California offers a variety of organizations and state institutions supporting individuals with special education needs, including those on the autism spectrum. These resources include non-profits, state agencies, and specialized programs within the California Department of Education.

State Agencies and Departments:

California Department of Education (CDE):
The CDE’s Special Education Division provides leadership, resources, and support for special education programs statewide.
California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD):
SCDD advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism, and their families.
Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs):
SELPAs are regional entities that provide special education services to students within their designated areas.
Diagnostic Centers, California (DCC):
